NON-ALCHOHOLIC SUMMER DRINKS

It’s a hot summer day and you just can’t quench your thirst! You have to drive so you can’t have alcohol so what could you possibly have? Well there are so many refreshing non alcoholic drinks you can make that will definitely quench your thirst. I am going to share a few of my favorites with you that will just “hit the spot” on a hot summer day. They are quick and easy to make and I think you will enjoy them.

STRAWBERRY LEMONADE

This recipe is both tart and sweet. Use fresh lemons and strawberries.

1 lb strawberries, halved

Fresh lemon juice from 10 lemons

1 cup granulated sugar

6 cups of water

Ice

Use a small saucepan and combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Let it come to a simmer using medium heat and make sure the sugar is dissolved. Let it cool off. Use a blender or processor to blend the strawberries and 1 cup of water until it is pureed. Strain the puree to rid of any pulp Use a large pitcher and combine the strawberry puree, the lemon juice and the 4 cups of water that are left. Adjust the water or lemon juice to your taste. Serve it over ice and you can put a little mint in it if you like mint or you can even put a wedgeof lemon. ENJOY!!!

WATERMELON DELIGHT

This has to be the easiest summer drink to make.

Cut half a watermelon into chunks then puree it in a blender. You then pour it into glasses with sparkling apple cider. You are done. It’s so easy!! Adjust the watermelon to how many drinks you are making. You can add ice in the blender if you want it really cold.

PINEAPPLE FREEZE

This is so delicious and the kids love it. For adults, you can add your favorite gin or vodka. This is also so easy to make.

You need 1 cup of frozen pineapple, 1 cup lemonade and 1/2 cup of coconut milk. Put the pineapple, coconut milk and lemonade in the blender. Blend until thick and pour right into the glasses. Top off with fresh whipped cream or a pineapple wedge. Enjoy!!!

I hope you get to enjoy one of these great refreshing non alcoholic drinks. You and your family will love them especially on a hot, steamy day.

Laying on a float in the pool with one of these refreshing non alcoholic summer drinks makes it a perfect day!!!
